Dashia Hewitt, MSN, AGNP-C

Dashia was raised in Central Florida. She spent time raising her family before pursuing her medical career. She has worked in many aspects of the medical field. First as nurse technician, then as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Registered Nurse prior to obtaining her Master’s degree to become a Nurse Practitioner.

Dashia graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland Florida, which is a designated a National Historic Landmark by the National Park Service of the U.S. Department of the Interior for being the largest single-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the world.

Dashia has worked in the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology and Interventional Radiology. She has taught advanced cardiac life support and other fundamentals within the hospital. She has been a member of professional practice councils in guiding evidence based practice within facilities.

Dashia was a founding member of a cardiac program within a small community based hospital, which now provides emergency cardiac catheterizations for those suffering heart attacks. A service which was lacking in the immediate surroundings prior to the establishment of the program. Dashia has been a service to the community in Relay for Life- American Cancer Society, Heart Walk - American Heart Association, as well as, camp nurse for Girl Scouts of America for several years serving up to 150 girls at a time.

When Dashia is not in the office she enjoys attending local theatre, travel, hiking, cooking and quilting.
